Digitalisation is changing self-relationships, forms of community and understandings of democracy. Contemporary post-digital culture and its aesthetic spaces of experience can no longer be understood without knowledge of digital mediality and digital designs - understood as power-laden aesthetic processes. Conversely, the spread of digital mediality in the aestheticised society can only be deciphered with reference to aesthetic-cultural practices. Aesthetic, cultural and media-related fields of knowledge are therefore essential for pedagogical capacity to act as well as for the future-oriented development of research into cultural education and media education.
