Adam - the blind date set up by one of her best friends - seems to be the answer Hanna has been waiting for. He is funny and charming and kind. Her only misgiving his Adam's hobby: his website for dark tourism, where the sites of historic murders are listed for curious rubberneckers to explore. Still, Hanna thinks, lots of people are interested in true crime. It's nothing to be concerned about, right?
Until a new posting is listed on the website. The house of Hanna's estranged family - the father, stepmother and stepsister she hasn't spoken to in months. Number of victims: three. Date of murder: today.
Frantic, Hanna tries to contact her family only to find they have disappeared. And then when more crime spots begin appearing on the website - crimes that haven't yet happened but that all seem entangled with a dark secret in Hanna's past - she realises she is being ensnared into a terrifying game.
